Jean Leboucher, sieur de Vallesfleurs, occupe les charges de vicomte et de juge de police de Granville, ce qui ne l’empêche nullement de s’intéresser à la mer. Propriétaire et armateur de la frégate Vierge de Grâce, il n’hésite pas en effet à armer son navire en course, en 1690, sous son propre commandement. Ce capitaine corsaire trouve pourtant la mort dans un combat mémorable contre deux frégates hollandaises, en 1690
