Crewman David Wilkie, Able Seaman, was transferred from HMS Sandwich to Victory on 23 July 1744 ADM 33 394

In 2009 the Victory was found by treasure-hunters Odyssey Marine Exploration in 330 feet of water sixty miles from the dangerous rocks and currents of Les Casquets – only about thirty miles from the coast of England.
