Extract of a letter from Charles Town, South Carolina, March 21

Yesterday arrived the brigantine Friendship, George Best, Master, who was taken the 24th of January by the Amararthe privateer of St Malo's, Claude Dominique Airie, and ransomed.

The London Chronicle, Saturday May 9, 1761

Captain of the privateer is almost certainly Claude Dominique Avice, who is known to be based at St Malo.
