Copy of a letter from Rear-Admiral Harvey,Commander in Chief of His Majesty's Ships and Vessels at the Leeward Istands, to Evan Nepean; Esq; dated on board His Majesty's Ship Prince of Wales, in Fort Royal Bay, Martinique, the 17th of September,1796.
SIR, I am to acquaint you, for the information of their Lordships, that La Victoire, French Schooner Privateer, carrying 6 carriage guns and 4 swivels, with 65 men, arrived here this morning, having been captured by His Majesty's Sloop Zebra (Captain Hurst) the 12th Instant,between Grenada and Tobago. This Privateer had been from Guadaloupe 8 days, and had taken 1 Sloop laden with Provisions from Barbadoes this Island, but she was recaptured by the Lapwing off Marie Galante.
