Hello, I'm looking for informations relativ to Pierre du Plessis d'Argentré (born 1715), enseigne in a "compagnie franche embarquée" on the Neptune french warhip, killed in octobre 25th 1747 near the Indes during a fignt opposing "l'escadre de Monsieur de Lestanduère" and the English. If no personnal pieces of information, elements concerning tne Neptune campaign an its commander could interest me.
Thank you for your attention.

The commanding officer of /Neptune/ in 1747, when the ship was captured in the battle of October 14/25, was Capitaine de vaisseau Gilles de Martineau, chevalier de Fromentière. He was killed in action and /Neptune/ was one of the 6 French ships captured.
