1775 Dec 24 USS Warren4 schooner Captain Winborne Adams retakes merchant brig Sally bound from Lisbon for New York a prize to Niger.

originally the fishing schooner Hawk, probably built at Marblehead, Massachusetts, and owned by John Twisdon. Warren joined schooners Lynch and Lee in an attempt to get to sea on 27 May 1776, but they could not pass HMS Milford [28-gun] blockading Cape Ann harbor. In company with schooner Lynch chased by Liverpool with Lynch escaping 26/8/1776. Warren kept as a tender by Liverpool until 4/9/1776 when Liverpool rendezvoused with Milford off Cape Ann, transferred Warren's guns to Milford, and sent Warren to Halifax. Served as a tender to Milford until Warren ran aground in a storm near Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and was destroyed in late December 1776
