London, 5 December 1751: Yesterday at a Court of Directors of the India Company, Capt Fisher of the Drake, Capt Peirce of the Edgcourt, Capt Peck of the Prince of Wales, and Capt McNamara of the Rhoda, for China, &c; took their leave of the said Court, in order to proceed on their voyages. [Kentish Post, 7 December 1751]

London, 13 June 1751: Yesterday the following ships were taken up into the service of the India Company, viz, a new ship in the room of the Houghton; a new ship, Capt Peck; the Colchester, Capt Roger Manwaring; the Oxford, Capt Robert Stevens; the Exeter, Capt William Firnele; a new ship, Capt Benjamin Fisher; the Bombay Castle; the Godolphin, Capt John Stevens; the Dorrington, Capt Drake; the Admiral Vernon, Capt Edmund Cooks; the Dodington, Capt Norton Hutchinson; the Chesterfield, Capt Edwin Carter; the Pelham, Capt George Linsey; and the Rhoda, Capt John McNamara.
