London, 13 June 1751: Yesterday the following ships were taken up into the service of the India Company, viz, a new ship in the room of the Houghton; a new ship, Capt Peck; the Colchester, Capt Roger Manwaring; the Oxford, Capt Robert Stevens; the Exeter, Capt William Firnele; a new ship, Capt Benjamin Fisher; the Bombay Castle; the Godolphin, Capt John Stevens; the Dorrington, Capt Drake; the Admiral Vernon, Capt Edmund Cooks; the Dodington, Capt Norton Hutchinson; the Chesterfield, Capt Edwin Carter; the Pelham, Capt George Linsey; and the Rhoda, Capt John McNamara.
