Possibly -
That part of the expedition from Bengal, which was going to Madras to join in the attack of the Manillas, has experienced some partial misfortune in its outlet; two of the transports, the Martha and Royal Charlotte, having struck on the Sandhead, near the mouth of the Ganges, and are totally lost. The Lord Camden Indiaman has put back to Diamond Island with damage. [Hampshire Chronicle, 13 January 1798]
