John Parkman served as Masters Mate on Magnificent from June 1803 until she was wrecked in March 1804. John was part of the crew that were captured by the French.

Captain John Giffard took command of HMS Magnificent in February 1801 upon transfer from HMS Active. In April 1802, Giffard & the Magnificent helped to quell the mutiny by the 8th West India Regiment at Dominica. My 4th great grandfather, Lieut. Andrew Crawford served on the Magnificent between May & September 1802.
