London, 4 January 1752: Thursday was held a Board of Admiralty when their Lordships put into commission the Buckingham man of war of 70 guns, a new ship now at Chatham. [Kentish Post, 8 January 1752]

London, 31 January: The following ships of war are ordered to be expedited, which are now building in Deptford Yard, viz, the Cambridge of 80 guns, the Buckingham of 70 guns, and the Deptford of 60. The Buckingham is ordered to be launched next month. [Kentish Post, 2 January 1751]
