The defects of the Chaleur Schooner were too many to repair here. She has been resheathed as being of red oak and rotten, she is unsafe to send to sea.

In my book, which we hope to see in print before the end of 2018, I will be providing significant new information about this vessel prior to her naval service. Among the discoveries are: where she was built, by whom, first owners, where she went, how she came to be acquired by the RN, and her original name. Other surprises as well.
