His Majesty’s ship the Coromandel of 44 guns, armed en flute, having on board the 2d West India regiment, is totally lost on the Bocca, near the island of Trinidad; but miraculously, though more than 500 souls were on board, not one was lost. [Hull Packet, 11 November 1800]
