Extract of a letter from the Bombay Gazette, of Feb. 26, 1816
We understand that the Captain, Commissioned, Warrent, and Petty Officers, Seaman, Marines, Boys and supernumeraries, of his Majesty's sloop Elk, Capt. Reynolds, now in this harbour, have set the patriotic example afloat of contributing towards the Aid of the Widows and Orphans of those who were Slain in the Battle of Waterloo, by writing to the Admiralty and expressing their wish for four days pay should be allotted for that purpose.
