The Spanish ship Ill Teressa, of 18 guns and 60 men, has been captured off St Lucia, and taken into Martinique, by his Majesty’s ship Guachupin [sic], Lieut Butcher, after a gallant action of an hour and a half; the Heureux frigate in sight at the time. She is supposed to be a valuable prize, having a quantity of specie on board. The Guachupin is gone to Antigua to refit. [London Courier, 24 October 1801]
