London, 11 April 1721: Yesterday the following guard ships were commissioned, the Captains as follows, viz, Sir George Walton, Warsaw; Capt Owen, Ipswich; Captain Harris, Essex; Capt Kempthorne, Yarmouth; Capt Davis, Jersey; Captain Nicholas Haddock, Torbay; Capt Philip Vanbrug, Bredah; Capt Hubbard, Windsor, and Capt Elford Debtford.
