You having informed us that the new Pink ordered to be built at Deptford Dockyard for Colonel Middleton may be launched this Spring, we direct you to cause her to be launched accordingly, and that she be named PARAMOUR and entered on the List of the Royal Navy by this name.
ADM/AHis Majesty has been pleased to lend his Pink, the Paramour, to Mr Halley for a voyage to the East Indies or the South Seas. We direct you to cause her to be sheathed and fitted for such a voyage, and furnished with twelve months Stores proper for her.
ADM/AThe Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty have been pleased to appoint me Commander of the Paramour Pink, and to order me to give sufficient security for the Wages that shall become due to the Ship's company. Your Honours have also commanded me to lay before you a List of the number and quality of the Persons I design to take with me. They are as follows:- 1 Chief Mate; 1 Mate and Gunner; 1 Surgeon; 1 Boatswain; 1 Carpenter; 10 Foremast Men; 2 Boys. With myself, Mr Middleton and his servant there will be in all twenty Persons. The voyage intended will be about ten months according to the common course of Navigation.
