Philip Stephens. William Sherrat, principal owner and manager of the Royal Antigallican, late private ship of war, which was previously the Roebuck and now lying at Portsmouth, has written that she was lent to the petitioners and others under certain conditions to cruize against the enemy for which he gave a bond and security. The prospect of Peace prevented her being entirely completed for the sea and they had the expense of maintaining Officers and seamen. Asks for his bond to be delivered up for cancellation and the ship to be docked and furnished with the stores ordered by the Admiralty to bring her round to the Thames and that a bill of sale is made to the Petitioner to reimburse him the charges. Are sending a report of her condition and opine it is not worth repairing her and she should be sold rather than being taken to pieces. Ask for approval for the payment of Mr. Sherratt's expenses.
