I have a note (taken from one or other collection of naval biographies) to the effect that Commander Eaton Stannard Travers was appointed to the Scylla in 1827 but because she proved defective he was transferred to the Rose on 23 July 1828. Apparently the Rose was then being fitted out for the Halifax station.
