London, 29 February 1752: Some of his Majesty’s subjects, on board the ship, King of Prussia, which arrived in the Downs, on the 12th Instant from Embden, having applied to his Majesty’s officers, that they might be released, alledging, that they were detained contrary to their will, Captain Baird, of his Majesty’ ship the Surprize, did, pursuant to the general instructions relating to His Majesty’s Service at Sea, immediately demand them, and they were given up. [Kentish Post, 4 March 1752]
