Portsmouth, 3 January 1801: Advices from India state, that the Arrogant, of 74 guns, had made 13 captures, 12 of which, after taking out their respective crews, she destroyed, from want of hands to man them; the other, a very large ship, she preserved. [Hampshire Chronicle, 5 January 1801]

Portsmouth: His Majesty’s ship the Arrogant, of 74 guns; the Courageux, of 74, and the Sasia, of 60 guns, are going to be put in commission; but where destined is not known, but imagined for the East-Indies. The Thunderer of 74 guns, appointed for the West-Indies, is now countermanded, and ordered into harbour, the first fair wind as a guard-ship. [Exeter Mercury, 25 January 1765]

Circa 24 Apr 1802 Mr. J. Berncy, Midshipman of the Arrogant, to be Lieutenant of La Sybille. Lieutenant H. Lambert, of the Suffolk, to be Lieutenant of the Arrogant. Lieutenant J. Burn, of the Arrogant, to be Lieutenant of the Victorious.
