Portsmouth, 12 January 1722: On Friday his Majesty’s ship Carisfort sailed from Spithead into the harbour to refit. Same day his Majesty’s ship Barfleur attempted to come into harbour, but before she got to the buoy, the wind died away, and she was forced to put back to Spithead, until a more favourable opportunity.
Same day the Commissioner sailed in his yacht to Spithead, and paid the Raven sloop of war two months advance. The above sloop is to sail with the Levant frigate, to join Admiral Sir Peter Denis in the Mediterranean.
The Princess Royal, of 90 guns, is in great forwardness on the stocks. The Lion and Berwick, the latter of 70, the former of 64 guns, are in the same condition on the new slips. [Kentish Gazette, 14 January 1772]

On Monday sailed from Portsmouth, the Levant frigate, Capt Thompson, having on board the Hon Mr Walpole, for Lisbon; and the Raven sloop of war for the Mediterranean. [Kentish Gazette, 14 January 1772]
