Portsmouth, 24 February 1716: The following ships are building and repairing at at this port:- Illustrious, Marlborough, and Nymph, having a thorough repair (the two latter are nearly ready to go out of dock); the Malacca, taken in to repair, but found so defective, it is supposed she will be broke up; the Warspite under a considerable repair; the Crown, 64, breaking up. The Pitt, 74, Talavera, 80, and Pallas, 36, are building. The Pitt and Pallas are in a forward state for launching: the Prince Regent yacht is building by the superior class of Shipwright Apprentices. The Victory, 100, is fitting in the Basin, having had a good repair. [Hampshire Telegraph, 26 February 1816]
