Advertisement: For sale at the Brokers’ Warehouse, Woolster Street, Plymouth, on Friday, the 15th day of May next, the stores, consisting of the anchors, cables, sails, standing and running rigging, blocks, guns, gun-carriages, brass cannonades, shot, &c, lately landed out of the French ship L’Aurore; captured on her voyage from the Isle of France to Bourdeaux, by His Majesty’s ship Thames, William Lukin, Esq, commander. Together with her cargo of coffee, pepper, indigo, rice and calavances. Peter Symons, Sworn Broker, Plymouth. [Hampshire Telegraph, 4 May 1801]

Plymouth, 6 February 1801: Arrived the Thames, of 32 guns, Captain Lukin, from a cruize, accompanied by a very handsome French ship of about 300 tons burthen, called the Aurore, pierced for 16 guns, but only 12 mounted, four having been thrown overboard in chace, and 103 men: she is from the Isle of France, bound to Bourdeaux, and laden with sugar, cotton, spices, and indigo, was captured by the Thames 18th ult, her cargo is very valuable. She has a French general on board, and several passengers.
