18 Jul 1801 Hazard16 sloop Commander William Butterfield a Court Martial was held on board the Gladiator, in Portsmouth on harbour on Lieutenant John Alexander Douglass, of his Majesty's sloop Hazard, for absenting himself from the said ship without leave. The charge being proved, he was sentenced to be dismissed his Majesty's Service.
