BWAS-1603Vice Admiral John Graydon, Court Martial President and Captains. Robert Pitman, Boatswain, the vanguard fined two months pay for being not at his duty onboard. Thomas Whittle, Cook fined one month pay for not telling the proper officer he was absent sick. William Johnson, Gunner and Thomas [Farsless ?], Carpenter, were at their duty and Robert Warner on a weeks leave were acquitted over the sinking of the Vanguard. Sampson Bourne, Barak Pitts, Master Attendant, Robert Shortiss, Master Builder and Jacob Ackworth, Assistant Master Builder ordered a hole cut in her after she broke free from her swivel during the storm Nov 27 to keep her from driving onto other ships.
